Amboth tanda
“In line with our philosophy of fostering a caring, encouraging, and responsible community, ISH supports two local schools. Such support enhances the emotional intelligence of our students and reflects our belief that education is the basis for development. The two schools that ISH supports are the IACD here at ICRISAT and Amboth Tanda. Amboth Tanda educates first generation learners from the Lambada tribe. Under the expert leadership of Dr. Azif Mirza, Amboth Tanda has expanded tremendously and now enrolls over 750 students.
ISH’s commitment to Amboth Tanda dates from 2003. Over the years, ISH has conducted a number of fund raising events to help the children of Amboth Tanda. We have also taken students, teachers, and parents to Amboth Tanda on many occasions. I have led many of these visits to Amboth Tanda and am always moved by seeing how happy these poor kids are to be studying. I hope you will join us in helping Amboth Tanda. How can you help? You can visit Amboth Tanda and help lead some classes in English for an afternoon. And you can donate to Amboth Tanda to sustain the school and ensure that these children of the poorest of the poor continue to receive an education. Please donate generously.” – Mrs. Franka Gallinger
